After more than decade in the mental health field, first as a student and now as a practitioner, I have found that those with a genuine desire for mental health services sometimes simply don’t have the time to receive them. As a mother of four children, I also know of the obstacles that come with leaving your home to go to therapy. Knowing first hand of the difficulties associated with finding and receiving mental health services, I created a private practice with the goal of making it easy to receive treatment.
I received a dual Master’s Degree in Mental Health & Marital, Couple, and Family Therapy from Barry University in 2009. I then attained my Doctoral in Psychology Degree from Albizu University. For the past ten years I have held many different types of positions such as the Director of Mental Health at At-Risk outpatient Juvenile facilities, to completing my practicum hours at a Children’s hospital, and as a clinician at a local jail, and at a community mental health center. I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings with diverse populations.
As the saying goes, “do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life”. Every day is paradise for me and I consider myself very lucky and privileged to work with each and every one of my clients. Trusting me to help you is the greatest gift you can give me.
Having had the opportunity to work with such diversity, I have taken an interest and have dedicated myself to working with women who suffer from perinatal and postpartum disorders, and with psychoeducational testing. I am personally aware of the unspoken difficulties that come with being a mother and have made a promise to myself to help as many mothers as I possibly can as I believe every mother needs support and words of encouragement. In addition, although psychoeducational testing is unrelated to motherhood, I have had a great amount of training in psychoeducational testing, and have been fascinated with testing and how it can potentially improve a child’s academic and social success.
